The commitment of Hans Ebeling to the club he joined in 1921 as a promising schoolboy cricketer is unparalleled.
He was a committeeman for 45 years (1934-79), including 24 years as vice-president, and for all of his 59-year association with the MCC was a willing participant in myriad assignments that would test the keenness and capacity of today's most dedicated volunteer.
